Jewish Lives New Zealand recognises the importance of keeping our stories alive. Knowing our past gives us roots and context. It helps to create a sense of belonging and identity. We can look to history and learn lessons for the present.

We are custodians of a highly significant archive of Jewish historical documents and artefacts. Our trust is currently undertaking extensive work gathering, cataloguing and digitising material from the 1840s to the present. As the work progresses, selections from the archive will be presented on this website.

We also seek to strengthen the community of the present, to bring people together through the sharing of stories and information, exhibition development, events and community projects. Through sharing that sense of community and building resilience, we will be able to create a future for the community.
